Most loved
The four things our customers come back for.
Made to be written in
We sew every journal in signatures of sixteen pages, so it opens flat from the first page to the last. The paper is 120 gsm, acid-free and sized for fountain pens: no feathering, no bleed-through, and just enough tooth for pencil.
Choose dot, lined, blank or grid ruling — and a cover in one of five bookcloth colours.
Bottled colour
Five fountain-pen inks, mixed for paper rather than for screens.
The Writer’s Starter Kit
A Field Journal, the Halden Fountain Pen and a bottle of ink in the colour you choose — everything to start writing with a fountain pen, in one gift box.
Sewn, not glued
Thread-sewn bindings that lie flat and outlast the glue-bound kind by years.
Fountain-pen friendly
Every paper we use is tested with wet nibs and our own inks before it reaches the shop.
Small batches
We make notebooks a few hundred at a time, so colours come and go — and nothing sits in a warehouse.
